First trained as a shiatsu therapist and then as an acupuncturist, JoAnn has been in private practice for well over 15 years. She has developed her unique skills to treat the body and mind and truly appreciates the body’s strong, innate ability to heal itself.
JoAnn has had the experience of treating a variety of conditions from digestive issues, anxiety, fibromyalgia, people living with HIV and particularly pregnancy, labour and post-partum.
In her practice, she brings a wide variety of skill sets and modalities to her treatments. As well as holding diplomas in Acupuncture (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Shiatsu, she also practices Japanese Acupuncture (apprenticing with the renowned Tak Tsurusaki for 2.5 years).
Trained with the Upledger & Barral Institute, she learned and developed her skills in Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation.
JoAnn is also a co-founder of Toronto AcuBirthing: Acupuncture for Pregnancy, Labour & Postpartum and is a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.
